PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set with a movable antenna that can increase the antenna sensitivity during a speech by tilting the tip of the antenna of the portable telephone set in a direction in which the tip is apart from ears of a person. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set is provided with a 1st means that detects whether or not an incoming call button is depressed at the arrival of an incoming call, a 2nd means that detects whether or not a sensing signal from a sensor is received when the 1st means detects that the incoming call button is depressed, and a 3rd means that starts a speech after automatically shifting the antenna from a 1st state where the antenna is in an upright state to the main body into a 2nd state where the antenna is tilted to the main body when the 2nd means judges that the sensing signal from the sensor is received.
