PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overall tracing, remote measurement and local area network forming system. SOLUTION: The communication system (100) has a broadband sub-system (50) and a wireless sub system (16). The broadband sub-system has at least one UWB node (60) which includes a 1st UWB transceiver (30) and at least one application node (40) coupled with a UWB node (60) by a broadband link (51). The wireless sub system has at least one remote communicator (80) which includes a 2nd UWB transceiver (90). The 1st and 2nd UWB transceivers are configured to communicate with each other via a UWB communication link (15).
