PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degradation diagnostic device for diagnosing degradation of an oil- immersed transformer, using an oil-immersed fiber sensor small in light loss. SOLUTION: An oil-immersed transformer deterioration diagnostic device is equipped with a light source of a semiconductor laser or a light emitting diode irradiating laser beams of two different wavelengths 600 nm to 1000 nm at an emission peak, an insulating paper irradiating optical fiber that guides irradiating light emitted from the light source to the surface of an insulating paper residing on the outermost of a coil immersed in an insulating oil, an insulating paper reflected light detecting optical fiber that receives and guides to the outside of an oil-immersed transformer the light reflecting from the surface of the insulating paper, passing through an insulating oil after it is emitted from the insulating paper irradiating optical fiber, an insulating paper reflected light detector that measures the light intensity of the reflected light, and a degradation computing part that computes a reflection absorption light intensity difference between laser beams of two different wavelengths, resting on measurement results obtained from an insulating oil transmitted light detector and the insulating paper reflected light detector and furthermore judges a degree of deterioration, using a previously stored relation (master curve) between the reflection absorption light intensity difference of an insulating paper and a degree of deterioration.
