PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a decoding efficiency in the case of displaying data coded by each frequency band. SOLUTION: In the unit decoding an image from data coded by each frequency band, a coefficient decoding section 102 decodes a coefficient of a frequency band, and the decoded images by Y, Cr, Cb are stores in coefficient storage buffers 104-106. Furthermore, inverse wavelet conversion sections 107-109 apply in verse conversion to the stored images, a reversible color conversion section 110 converts the Y, Cr, Cb data into RGB data, which are stored in a display image data storage memory 111 and an image display section 112 displays the data. When display of data with higher resolution is instructed, a reversible color conversion section 113 converts the RGB data in the memory 111 into the Y, Cr, Cb data, which are stored in the coefficient storage buffers 104-106, and components of a required frequency band are received from a coded data input section 101, the coefficient decoding section 102 decodes the components, the coefficient storage buffers 104-106 stores the data and the inverse wavelet conversion sections 107-109 decode the data. |
