PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not need complex pattern designs and formation process and can adjust temperature distribution freely. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing apparatus by using a heated fixing roller with rotation driver, the heated fixing roller comprises a hollow cylindrical metallic body and the inside laminates of an electric insulating layer and resistance heating layer and has the heating element from the surface. The electric insulating layer and the resistance heating layer are formed by spreading and the resistance heating layer is divided more than two patterns having different heating distribution and each of the patterns is formed to spiral type.
