PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and a printing processing device, with which characters are extracted and made into text data by using a character recognizing function for a character string in data read by a scanner, character working processing, such as color conversion or effecting, is applied to a character string part corresponding to the preset contents of a character string conversion table and a specified character can be emphasized or made conspicuous. SOLUTION: Concerning the printing controller for applying image processing to image data which are provided by reading an original, and outputting these data, this device is provided with a means for recognizing characters from the image data, a means for converting the data of recognized characters into text data, a means for correspondingly registering a prescribed character string and character working processing (with respect to that character string), a means for extracting a character string matched to the registered character string from the text data, and a means for applying character working processing to the character string of characters extracted. |
