PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for training character input, a method for training character input which capable a user to enhance his or her keyboard input technique and knowledge of vocabulary while the user operates the key board and performs a conversation of unexpected contents with a creature image, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: This device for training character input is provided with a creature image storing means 16 which stores the creature image in accordance with plural growth stages of the creature, a creature image displaying means 18 which displays the creature image, a vocabulary storing means 20 which stores plural vocabulary dictionaries in accordance with the plural growth stages of the creature, a training character displaying means 22 which reads out the training character from the vocabulary storing means 20 and displays the same, a character input means 12 by which the user inputs the training character, an inputted character displaying means 14 which displays the inputted character and a creature growth controlling means 24 which controls the growth of the creature in accordance with at least one information among the ratio of right answers among the inputted characters, the inputted number of rightly answered characters and the number of the rightly answered characters per unit time. Therefore, this device for training character input enables enhancing the keyboard input technique and the knowledge of vocabulary of the user while delighting the user.
