PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting up function of a terminal equipment possible to realize a lot of patterns of setting up function in the terminal equipment with several functions by using a small number of setting switches without reducing reliability of the equipment. SOLUTION: It is the method for setting up the function of the terminal equipment with several terminal functions for security and an address setting switch 61 that sets up a terminal address for multiple transmissions. It not only converts the address setting switch 61 into a fixed setting pattern but also operation switches S1-S6 for processing the terminal function as an operational state into a function setting mode by plugging in the equipment body. The setting pattern of a function switch 62 having the function setting bit of a plurality of digit and the function setting content set based upon combined condition with the operation status of operation switches S1 to S6 are written and stored in a writable non-volatile memory 10.
