摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating apparatus in which the ratio between amount of incident light going through a light-guiding optical fiber bundle and amount of monitoring light does not change even when the light distribution pattern of light source changes, and in which changes in the amount of incident light going through the light-guiding optical fiber bundle can be efficiently controlled based on a monitoring light signal using a light source control system. SOLUTION: Light from a light source 2 is introduced into a light-transmitting mixing rod 6 through an incident face 6a via a heat ray absorption filter 4. After the distribution of light is uniformized through repeated inward reflections on a side face 6b, the light is emitted from an emission face 6c. Part of the emitted light is guided into a light-guiding optical fiber bundle 8 through a light-incident end face 8a and, after being guided, is emitted from a light- emitting end face 8b. Remaining part of the emitted light from the emission face 6c of the mixing rod is guided through an optical fiber 10 into a light- receiving element 12 to obtain a light amount signal. A drive circuit 14 controls, based on the light amount signal, the amount of power supplied to the light source 2 and the light emission from the light source 2.
