PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture image forming device and a method for controlling it which can outputs the most appropriate gradation image, from low density to high density, even when the image forming speed is changed. SOLUTION: In the case when image forming speed is changed from 1/1 process speed of regular paper to 1/2 process speed of cardboard, change the output and input gamma characteristics of gamma corrective treatment so that output image density decreases in the high density area. And so, LED is exposed so that the light exposure becomes smaller compared to picture image data, but the light exposure par area on the material is corrected, then the most appropriate gradation density is obtained. |
