METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROCESSING USER REQUEST UTILIZING UPSTREAM CHANNEL IN INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS SERVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for processing a user request by utilizing an upstream channel so that the user request can appropriately be processed in each individual basic component of optional multimedia contents provided to the user as an interactive multimedia contents service. SOLUTION: When a user side makes a specific processing request for a part of specified nodes in the interactive multimedia contents service, desirably in an MPEG-4 BIFS scene in which a scene node representing a three- dimensional scene is described in an MPEG-4 system, a terminal device constructs an upstream channel information for a BIFS scene and offers the upstream channel information to a server side through an upstream channel. The server side processes the BIFS scene node corresponding to the upstream channel information in a requested form, also encodes the BIFS scene node and transmits the BIFS scene node to the terminal device.
