PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the using efficiency of a data bus by shortening the occupancy time of the data bus in the processing of image input using the data bus. SOLUTION: When an IIT 4 scans an original, line synchronizing signals are outputted synchronized with the original area of a main scanning direction and the using right of an image data bus 8 is allocated to the transfer of image data by the IIT 4 within the time during which the line synchronizing signals are outputted. Thus, the IIT 4 uses the image data bus 8 only for the original area, it is utilized by other devices when the IIT 4 does not use the image data bus 8 and thus, the using efficiency of the image data bus 8 is improved.
