PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion method or a color converter capable of flexibly changing conversion characteristics and performing a color conversion processing without narrowing a color reproducible range without the need of a large capacity memory by independently correcting six hues and areas among the respective hues. SOLUTION: For comparison data participating in the respective hues and the comparison data participating in the area among the respective hues, by changing coefficients related to the respective ones, the six hues of red, blue, green, yellow, cyan and magenta and the hues under attention in the area among the six hues are changed without affecting the other hues and color conversion is performed. For the area among the respective hues, the two participating comparison data are respectively used.
