PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load of a network by preventing data to flow on the network from being redundant when file information is collected in asset management of software, etc. SOLUTION: When a file information acquisition request is made from a management system to systems to be managed via an intermediate system in the case that the systems 1, 2, 3 (1102, 1102, 1103) to be managed are connected with the management system (1100) via the intermediate system 1 (1101), the systems to be managed create the collected pieces of file information as pieces of group information (501) by every directory folder, transfer them to the intermediate system, the intermediate system returns only group names and addresses of the systems to be managed to the management system when the group information coincident with the transferred group information exists in the present group information storage, returns the group name, the address of the systems to be managed and differential information when the group information partially coincident with the transmitted one exists and transmits the group information and the address of the systems to be managed when the group information is noncoincident with the transferred one.
