A fork-lift truck comprises two laterally disposed longitudinal box-like members 1 and 2, the inner members of which, 7 and 8, are inwardly cranked at the rear end and are interconnected by bolts 11 a and spaces 11b. At the forward ends, the members 1 and 2 are connected and supported by an axle housing 18 which is also connected to an intermediate housing 23, a flange 24 of which forms an additional connection between the members 1 and 2 and a support for the housing 28 of an internal combustion engine. The rear wheels 13 are supported by an axle 15 pivotally mounted at its midlength by brackets 12 which are connected between the inwardly cranked rear ends of the members 7 and 8. The rear wheels are steerable and the front wheels 19 are driven from the I.C. engine through a pump 22 and hydraulic motors 21 housed in the member 18. The lift mast, which is tiltable by a pair of hydraulic rams 35, is pivotally mounted by brackets 9 and a spindle 10 in brackets 32 supported by the side members 7 and 8. A counterpoise 11 is mounted upon the frame structure and a cover 42, which is pivoted to the vehicle at 45 in rubber bushed bearings and, in the closed position, rests upon rubber buffers 46, supports a seat 44. An exhaust purifier 37 is disposed in the box member 2 and the battery 40, tool box 39 and fuel tank 71 is disposed in the member 1.
