<p>A solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization, characterized by comprising (a) a magnesium compound, (b) titanium tetrachloride, and (c) a phthalic diester represented by a specific formula or a derivative thereof; and an olefin polymerization catalyst. With these, an olefin polymer can be obtained in an extremely high yield. In particular, a propylene polymer retaining high stereoregularity can be obtained in an extremely high yield. The component and catalyst are highly responsive to hydrogen.</p> |
