OPTICAL FILM

A film which comprises an olefinic polymer which has an alicyclic group as a side group accounting for 60 to 90 wt % of the total weight thereof and satisfies the following formula: R (450)/ R (550) < 1 wherein R (450) and R (550) represent in-plane phase differences of the film at wave lengths of 450 nm and 550 nm, respectively. The film is capable of exhibiting a smaller phase difference for a shorter wave length used for measurement without using a plurality of sheets laminated.
