The invention concerns a method and a device for moving in snow with a combustion engine as a power source, as the problem has been the limitations and clumsiness of the known devices' structural arrangements, hindering to arrange new devices with new and improved properties. According to the invention the problems are solved by a method for moving in snow, where a moving device (22), comprising a steering ski assembly (25) and a track belt assembly (27) driven by a motor, is driven while standing on the device's (22) standing platform (23) and gripping a handlebar (24) for steering the device (22), a low position of the standing platform (23) stabilizing the device. The invention provides a device for moving in accordance with the method, and further a device which, in addition to being stabile while moving by standing on the standing platform (23) or on the leg room (23), has an improved driving position when sitting on the device's (22) seat part (91). Further, the invention provides a device (22) where the outer surface of the track belt comprises contact surfaces whereon are influenced to bring the track belt's (28) upper part downwards and hence, too, the standing platform or leg room down for stabilizing the drive.
