PURPOSE: A TX IF power control apparatus and method is provided to continuously maintain a reference output in a BTS(Base Transceiver Subsystem) during operation by setting a TX IF power as a simple digital value and adjusting the TX IF power in a BSM(Base Station Manager) in case that a mobile communication system is initially set up or an output in an IF terminal is low. CONSTITUTION: A power detector(10) measures a power level of an outputted analog signal. An LPF(Low Pass Filter)(20) removes a ripple component outputted from the power detector(10). An AD converter(30) digitalizes a level of the detected signal and reports the digitalized value to a BSM. An FPGA(40) controls a TX IF power control signal and reports a level of an outputted TX IF signal. A DA converter(50) converts the TX IF signal into an analog DC voltage. An LPF and amplifier(60) removes a ripple component of the DC voltage outputted from the DA converter(50) and amplifies the DC signal level. A control voltage stabilizing circuit(70) is used so that the level of the amplified DC component is suitable for a voltage input level. A VCA(Voltage Control Attenuator) changes the amplification by the control voltage converted as the DC.
