PURPOSE: A stacked type two-stage expansion evaporator is provided to achieve a maximized efficiency of heat exchanger by allowing liquid refrigerant to circulate through the flow channel formed by each plate of the evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A capillary tube(2) is arranged at the inlet side of a stacked type evaporator(1) which is used as a radiator for air conditioner, and an auxiliary heat exchanger formed of stacked plates is arranged at the capillary tube. A refrigerant feed unit such as a compressor is arranged to the auxiliary heat exchanger, in such a manner that the refrigerant fed through the compressor, condenser and an expansion valve circulates through the auxiliary heat exchanger, capillary tube and evaporator. Thus-circulated refrigerant is circulated in a reverse direction and heat exchanged in the auxiliary heat exchanger, thus allowing liquid refrigerant to circulate through the evaporator. The capillary tube is formed of a plate having flow channels(5,501) of opposite flow directions, and inlet and outlet ports(6,7). The auxiliary heat exchanger is formed of stacked plates(8) each of which has a flow channel(10) allowing refrigerant to flow in a zigzag fashion by barriers arranged at each of stacked plates.
