<p>A ClipMark composed of a mark indicating a characteristic image extracted from an inputted AV stream is created as management information for managing the AV stream. A PlayListMark composed of a mark indicating an image arbitrarily specified by the user is created from a reproduction section corresponding to a PlayList defining a combination of predetermined sections in the AV stream. The ClipMark and PlayListMark are recorded as mutually independent tables on a recording medium. Therefore a quick and reliable access to a desired position of the AV stream can be made.</p> |
