PURPOSE: An apparatus for heat treating a wire rod is provided to improve quality of a product and increase productivity by preventing the wire rod from being contacted with the inner circumferential wall of the skid pipe when a wire rod passes through a skid pipe. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is characterized in that a heating furnace(1) and a cooling means(2) are installed in series, a supporting plate(5) is installed on supporting elements(4) installed at a furnace body(3) in the heating furnace so that skid pipes(6,6') are arranged at the supporting plate(5) and cooling means(2) with spaced apart in a certain distance, a gas supplying means(20) is installed on the skid pipe, a heating means(8) is installed at the lower part of the supporting plate, and a wire rod supporting member(30) is installed at the skid pipe, wherein the wire rod supporting member forms a roller chamber in a connection member so that the wire rod supporting roller is oppositely built-in the roller chamber in such a manner that the wire rod supporting roller is more projected than the inner wall of the skid pipe, the wire rod supporting roller is rotationally supported to a bracket at the same time, and a gap control means of the wire rod supporting roller is connected to the bracket so that the wire rod supporting roller is ascended and descended, and wherein the gap control means of the wire rod supporting roller is an actuator(35) and linked with a nut by connecting a bar to the bracket, and forming a screw at the front end of the bar.
