METHOD FOR DETECTING TOXIC SUBSTANCES IN WATER USING ROTIFER OR DAPHNIA

PURPOSE: A method for detecting toxic substances in water using Rotifer or Daphnia is provided, thereby rapidly and cheaply detecting the toxic substances in water. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting the toxic substances in water using Rotifer or Daphnia comprises the steps of: dividing larvae of Rotifer or Daphnia into several groups; separately adding a copper ion solution into each group with different concentrations, while one group is not added by the copper ion solution; heating the groups to 35.5 deg. C during contacting with copper ions; and comparing the death rate and movement of the larvae of Rotifer or Daphnia contacted with copper ion for 90 minutes with the larvae of Rotifer or Daphnia uncontacted with copper ions to determine the damage of the larvae of Rotifer or Daphnia by copper ions.
