BEARING HOUSING AND ROLLER SHAFT SEAL

Moulded plastics bearing housing (10), receiving rolling bearing (26), is press-fitted into end (72) of conveyor roller tube (74). Body portion (12) o f housing (10) extends radially inward as neck portion (46) terminating in two rims, one sealing against shaft (82) supporting the conveyor roller and the other sealing against inner race (30) of bearing (26). Both sealing rims are curved in section so as to make low angles with shaft (82) and bearing (26). The flexibility of this sealing arrangement absorbs axial movements between shaft (82) and the roller.
