The invention relates to a method and a device (1) for comminuting micro-organisms contained in the sewage sludge of a sewage treatment works. According to said method, a volume containing the micro-organisms is first compressed in a pressure chamber, emerges through an outlet (4) after the abrupt opening of the latter and subsequently strikes an impact element (5). This produces high tensile and shear forces which are used to liquidate the internal structure of the micro-organisms and their mutual bonds, in order to prepare favourable conditions for a subsequent conversion process. Said invention significantly reduces production and operating costs for the device (1), in comparison with conventional treatment works used in practice, and at the same time substantially increases operational safety. |
