An improved stealthy, non-surgical biocompatable electronic tracking device (Fig. 1) is provided in which housing (4) is placed intraorally. The housing (4) contains microcircuitry (6). The microcircuitry (6) comprises a receiver (8), a passive mode to active mode activator (10), a signal decoder (12) for determining positional fix, a transmitter (14), an antenna (16), and a power supply (18). Optionally, an amplifier may be utilized to boost signal strength. The power supply (18) energizes the receiver (8). Upon receiving a coded activating signal, the positional fix signal decoder (12) is energized, determining a positional fix. The transmitter (14) subsequently transmits through the antenna (16) a position locating signal to be received by a remote locator. In another embodiment of the present invention, the microcircuitry (6) comprises a receiver (8), a passive mode to active mode activator (10), a transmitter (14), an antenna (16) and a power supply (18). Optionally, an amplifier may be utilized to boost signal strength. The power supply energizes the receiver. Upon receiving a coded activating signal, the transmitter (14) is energized. The transmitter (14) subsequently transmits through the antenna (16) a homing signal to be received by a remote locator. |
