A disc brake for a lift drive has two brake arms (13) linked at one end by hinges (12) and clamped together by a spring drive (15) at the free ends, to clamp brake pads (14) onto a disc coupled to the drive motor. The brake arms are splayed apart by a solenoid (17, 18). A mechanical release can also be fitted, comprising cam levers coupled to a Bowden cable drive. The brake has a threaded adjustment at the free end and a threaded manual release. |
