PURPOSE: A vehicle passing time information system and a method thereof are provided, which can improve the convenience and the workability by enabling to predict an arrival time of a vehicle accurately. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a signal transmission unit(10) which is installed at an appropriate place in a vehicle like a bus. The signal transmission unit is endowed with a specific number from each public institution and is classified by traveling lines of a bus, and transmits an independent signal respectively. Each signal transmission unit comprises an RF(Radio Frequency) transmitter. The system also comprises a signal reception unit(20) in correspondence to the signal transmission unit, and the signal reception unit comprises an RF receiver and is installed at an appropriate place of a bus station to receive an RF signal when the corresponding vehicle passes its section. A central processing unit(30) is connected to the reception unit and includes a timer(32) which can count the time after the vehicle passes the bus station. And a display unit(40) is connected to the central processing unit and provides outputs from a control unit to passengers visually.
