A catalyst removing nitrogen oxides in the presence of oxygen comprises a zeolite of over 15 SiO 2:Al 2O 3molar ratio, containing copper, cobalt, platinum, palladium and other transition metal ions. It does not require the use of ammonia as a reducing agent for industrial and vehicle exhaust gas cleaning.
