<p>Phthalic diester derivatives of the following general formula (I) and electron donors which contain the derivatives as the active ingredient and are to be used as solid catalysts for the polymerization of olefins can not only give highly stereoregular polymers with an extremely high activity or yield but also exhibit a high response to hydrogen: wherein R1 is C¿1-8? alkyl or halogeno; R?2 and R3¿ may be the same or different from each other and are each C¿1-12? alkyl; and n represents the number of R?1¿(s) and is 1 or 2, with the proviso that when n is 2, R1s may be the same or different from each other.</p> |
