Elastic panty hose (20) are modified to have a shallow notch (26) in the toe portion (24) for accepting the thong (502) of a thong style sandal (500) or shoe. When the foot (505) and panty nose are inserted into the thong style sandal or shoe, the notch is stretched thereby smoothing the contour of the panty hose around the toes (507, 509).
