PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel damming apparatus making it possible to rapidly and easily perform the operation of damming a channel. SOLUTION: The channel damming apparatus 1 includes an apparatus body 2 formed to be smaller than the cross section of a channel and thus being insertable into the channel. Both side faces of the apparatus body 2 are formed as outwardly gently inclined face portions 5 and 6, and the apparatus includes movable elastic sealants 18 and 19 vertically movably disposed on the inclined face portions 5 and 6 of the apparatus body 2, and a fixed elastic sealant 11 fixedly disposed on the lower surface portion 4 of the apparatus body 2. With the fixed elastic sealant 11 in close contact with the bottom face of the channel, the movable elastic sealants 18 and 19 are lowered along the inclined face portions 5 and 6 of the apparatus body 2 whereby the movable elastic sealants 18 and 19 are brought into close contact with the opposite inner surfaces of the channel.
