PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop the new uses of charcoal powder which has been insufficient until now, and to provide charcoal powder-containing articles which can be conveniently used, enable the function of charcoal to be sufficiently exhibited and have been introduced in life environment. SOLUTION: Modified household utensils are produced by coating household utensils with a charcoal powder-containing composition. Modified household utensils may be obtained by immersing household utensils into a charcoal powder-containing coating material which comprises charcoal powder, a polymer and a solvent, by taking the utensils out and by drying them, or may be obtained by applying the above coating material to household utensils and by drying them.
