METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aromatic polycarbonate having excellent hue and reduced discoloration of raw materials due to the short residence time of the raw materials and, at the same time, the absence of clogging in transfer piping in manufacturing an aromatic polycarbonate by the transesterification method of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonic acid diester compound. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an aromatic polycarbonate by the polycondensation reaction of an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a carbonic acid diester in the presence of a transesterification reaction catalyst comprises continuously mixing the raw materials of the aromatic dihydroxy compound with the carbonic acid diester by the use of two or more stirring vessels which re connected with each other by a transfer piping to prepare a uniform solution containing no undissolved substance, and using the transfer piping having no flow path bottleneck in feeding the solution to the polymerization system, and simultaneously transferring the raw material mixture in the stirring vessels to the next stirring vessel only by hydrostatic pressure.
