PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new dopant material (compound) capable of reducing the moisture content of an electroconductive polymeric material doped therewith without impairing the electroconductivity inherent in the polymer, and to provide a dopant consisting of the above compound. SOLUTION: This new dopant material is a benzenesulfonic acid derivative compound of the formula (1) (wherein, R1, R2 and R3 are each H or a <=20C hydrocarbon group, at least one of R1 to R3 being a hydrocarbon group, and R1 and R2, or R2 and R3 may be bound to each other to form a hydrocarbon ring). The other objective dopant consists of the above compound.
