<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium silicate formed body in which substantially no cracks and no warpage are caused even when a direct adhesion method is used, and which has excellent hadleability and is capable of maintaining sufficient flexural strength even when used as an external facing material, and also to provide a production process of the formed body. SOLUTION: This calcium silicate formed body contains aragonite and reinforcing organic fiber in a matrix consisting of tobermorite and/or xonotlite and shows a <=12 mass % ignition loss at 650 deg.C and a <=0.08% rate of dimensional change by water absorption. This production process comprises: preparing a slurry by using, as siliceous raw materials, (a) silica stone and/or silica sand, each having a 3,000-4,000 cm2/g Blaine specific surface area, 2-50μm particle size and a <=20μm difference between the maximum particle size and the minimum particle size, and (b) slag wool; forming the slurry into a platelike formed body by a papermaking method; and subjecting the platelike formed body to autoclave curing and hardening.</p> |
