PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain continuity without requiring a waiting time to discharge bundles of sheets on a processing tray, by improving a conventional method to shift all bundles of sheets on the processing tray when forming a series of sheets into plural bundies by sorting them. SOLUTION: In a sheet processing device equipped with an accumulation tray to accumulate sheets on which images are formed and a processing tray to receive the sheets in a course reaching the accumulation tray, in which a passage to directly discharge the sheets to the accumulation tray at need and a passage to discharge them to the accumulation tray through the processing tray are made selectable, after directly discharging plural sheets preceding ahead of others to the accumulation tray, succeeding bundles of sheets are continuously loaded on the processing tray, and the bundies are discharged to the accumulation tray through the processing tray. Thereby, the preceding of the sheets and the succeeding bundles of sheets are sorted.
