PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inject a diluent of optional multiples of a specimen into a specimen storage container containing the specimen and reduce the size and a cost of a diluent injector. SOLUTION: This diluent injector 1 is constructed of a weight meter 2 measuring the weight of the specimen Q inside a specimen storage bag 14 and the diluent L, a supporting column 3 stood in the weight meter 2, a diluent storage bag 4 held in a high position above the specimen storage bag 14 on the supporting column 3 so as to store the diluent L to be injected into the specimen storage bag 14, a flexible tube 5 connected to the diluent storage bag 4, and a tube holding means 6 installed to the front end side of the tube 5. The tube holding means 6 is provided with a flow controlling means 17 controlling flow, shut-off, and a flow rate of the diluent L flowing down from the diluent storage bag 4 via the tube 5.
