PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormalities of a sensor output sensitivity even when a pressure sensor is operating with a diaphragm which deflects by the application of a pressure and gage resistors which output electrical signals corresponding to the applied pressure based on the deflection of the diaphragm. SOLUTION: Six gage resistors R1-R6 are mutually electrically connected at connecting points A, B, C, D, E and F respectively. Resistance values when the pressure is applied change in different positive and negative directions between the gage resistors R1, R3, R4 and R5 and the gage resistors R2 and R6. The electrical signal corresponding to the applied pressure is outputted by a voltage difference between the connecting points A and E by impressing a voltage or a current to between the connecting points C and F. Moreover, failures of the sensor output is detected by a voltage difference between the connecting points B and D.
