PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for monitoring start of an engine system capable of suppressing to the utmost to interrupt various kinds of control such as failure diagnosis by automatic intermittent operation, in the engine system wherein the automatic intermittent operation is carried out. SOLUTION: In the device for monitoring start of the engine system, a start flag X is turned on when engine rotating speed NE exceeds a prescribed value or more, and engine start is judged. After the judgment is carried out, a turning-on condition of the start flag X is held until an ignition switch is turned off even if the engine is stopped, and the judged condition is held.
