PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately judging whether an air conditioner has failed, when parts such as a compressor have been assembled, and to provide a device for executing the method. SOLUTION: This failure presence/absence judgment method is provided with a first stage for detecting an acoustic radiation signal that is generated by the internal compressor, while the air conditioner is operating, a second stage for detecting the parameters of a specific constituent out of the detected acoustic radiation signals, and a third stage for judging the presence or absence of the failure of the entire air conditioner by comparing detected parameters with fundamental values. Also, this execution device for the judgment is provided with an acoustic radiation signal sensor device, that is bonded near a vane inside the compressor to detect the acoustic radiation signals which are generated by the compressor of the air conditioner, and a comparison judgment part for judging the presence or absence of the failure of the air conditioner through comparison of an AE absolute average value obtained by dividing the sum of the signal values of fixed frequencies out of signals which are detected by the sensor device by the number of entire data. As a result, by using this kind of acoustic radiation method, the presence or absence of the failure in the air conditioner can be detected most reliably. |
