The tools for loosening orthopedic dental brackets made of a brittle nonmetal material incorporate two jaws, with at least the bracket gripping sections made of a material whose hardness is sufficiently low to reduce the probability of bracket fractures in the loosening process. An Independent claim is also included for a method for loosening such orthopedic dental brackets.
