Preferred Features: The engine is equipped with an EGR mechanism (17) and the NOx emissions increasing device reduces the EGR value to increase the amount of NOx flowing into the NOx absorption device. The NOx emissions increasing device changes the air-fuel ratio to increase the amount of NOx flowing into the NOx absorption device.
