PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle with a continuously variable transmission capable of preventing over-rotation of an engine without causing abrupt torque change due to intercepting of fuel supply and impeding a will of a driver, when a manual transmission mode is selected. SOLUTION: When the manual transmission mode is selected by a selecting system 6 and a gear change ratio is fixed by a gear ratio controlling means 32, if an engine rotating speed corresponding value achieves a specified value lower than an over-rotation preventive maximum value intercepting fuel supply to an engine 1, the output of the engine is reduced by an engine output controlling means 33 while fixing the gear change ratio. Thereby, acceleration of a vehicle is suppressed, and the over-rotation of the engine is prevented without intercepting the fuel supply. The dropping margin of the engine output at that time is made to be smaller than the dropping margin of the engine caused by intercepting the fuel supply, thereby preventing abrupt torque change. |
