PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording sheet, with which an ink jet image having an extremely high saturation such as extremely high bleeding resistance with the passage of time, water resistance and lustrous properties, being not dull and more clear and having higher color purity and color density or the like, can be formed. SOLUTION: A coloring material accepting layer coating liquid including fine inorganic pigment particles and a water-soluble resin is applied on at least either one side of a base. Simultaneously with the application or in the midway of the drying of the formed applied layer and before the manifestation of the falling rate drying speed of the applied layer, a cross-linker solution, which includes a cross-linker for cross-linking the water-soluble resin, is given in the applied layer so as to obtain a coloring material accepting layer by curing the applied layer given by the solution in order to obtain the ink jet recording sheet having the coloring material accepting layer. Both the coloring material accepting layer coating liquid and the cross-linker solution include a mordant. Further, the coating amount ratio (by weight) between the coating amount of the mordant led from the coloring material accepting layer coating liquid and the coating amount of the mordant led from the solution including both the cross-linker and the mordant is set to be 30:1 to 1:30. |
