PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of transforming coordinates by setting simple parameters and by using the four operations in arithmetic without using trigonometric functions or the height of an observing point, capable of lightening a processing burden and increasing the processing speed, and capable of displaying a map given perspective in which a distant thing is displayed smaller and a nearby one larger. SOLUTION: This navigation device is equipped with an information storage means 3 for storing map data made up of two-dimensional coordinates, a coordinate transformation means 11 for transforming the two-dimensional coordinates of the map data stored in the storage means on to two-dimensional coordinates, a display means 6 for displaying a map, and a display control means 4 for causing the display means 6 to display thereon the map data coordinate- transformed by the transformation means 11. The displayed map is given perspective in which a distant thing is displayed smaller and a nearby one larger. Also, appropriate map information is provided according to a driver's instruction, peripheral environments, and driving conditions. |
