PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel biocompatible polymer to be derived from a polycaprolactone(PCL) which can be used as the biocompatible material singly or in combination with other known substances and, in addition, with extremely reduced crystallization or bleeding. SOLUTION: The polymeric material of the polyester-carbonate family comprises segments of polycaprolactone with a molecular weight of 500-15,000 which are linked or unlinked to segments of polyoxyethylene glycols(PEGs) or polyoxypropylene glycols with a molecular weight of 188-4,000 and is defined by the formula (wherein (n) is a number of 4-135; (z) is a number of 5-300; and X may be an alkylene group or another complex group).
