PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure reducing valve type pilot valve capable of reducing a contact part of a housing and a spool inserted and slid in the housing. SOLUTION: This pressure reducing valve type pilot valve comprises the main body-side housing 10A having a pump port 4, a tank port 5 and an output port 6, the spool inserted into a sliding hole 23 in the housing 10A, having a large diameter part 25A and a small diameter part 25B, and capable of communicating the output port 6 to one of the pump port 4 and the tank port 5, and an oil pressure chamber 20 formed among an end face part of the large diameter part 25A of the spool 24, the sliding hole 23 and the small diameter part 25B. An outer diameter dimension D2 of a third land part 24C positioned between the pump port 4 and the output port 6 is set smaller than an outer diameter dimension D1 of a second land part 24B positioned between the pump port 4 and the tank port 5, and a first land part 24A positioned between the tank port 5 and the oil pressure chamber 20.
