PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve viewing angle dependency of a display image when a line segment, a monochromatic area, or a character in any direction is displayed in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device including an alignment layer 10 on which a first unit alignment area 6 having first alignment characteristics and a second unit alignment area 8 having different second alignment characteristics from the first alignment characteristics are mixed and placed at a matrix position of a matrix, and the first and second unit alignment areas 6 and 8 are disposed so that the first and second unit alignment areas 6 and 8 may be mixed along a straight line of all directions is composed. A mask suitable for forming plural kinds of the alignment area having the alignment characteristics different in the alignment layer is used. |
