The method involves determining the phase angle (alpha) of a first (B) and a second (A) signal. A positive signal is determined from the first and the second signal if the angle lies in a positive angle range (2beta) about a positive angle (zero degrees), the second signal ideally being exactly zero, and the first signal having a positive value. A negative signal is determined from the first and second signal if the angle (alpha) lies in a negative angle range (2beta) about a negative angle (180 degrees), the second signal ideally being exactly zero, and the first signal having a negative value. The offset and/or amplitude of the first signal is determined from the positive and the negative signal.
